Evo DeConcini papers, ca. 1961-1986.

Summary: Small collection of newspaper clippings about Evo DeConcini's life, three Old Pueblo Club Newsletters with articles written by Evo while president of the organization in 1971-1972, a 1963 speech about wills and lawsuits, and travel letters. The travel letters are typed copies that were written on various trips and contain a mixture of reports on travel conditions and personal, political and social commentary on the areas visited. These include his views of the Grand Canyon, Mount Graham, the Fort Grant Industrial School for Boys and juvenile delinquency, the White Mountains, Apache Indian Reservation, Hawley Lake, and Greer, Arizona, and a visit to the 1976 Democratic National Convention and the Arizona politicians in attendance. Other materials include invitations to a box supper for a Democratic fundraiser to honor Evo's wife, Ora DeConcini, and a published DeConcini family cookbook.

Biographical note: Judge; Evo Anton DeConcini (1901-1986) served as assistant Attorney General for Arizona in 1935, was appointed a Pima County Superior Court Judge from 1942 to 1946, was elected to the Arizona Supreme Court in 1948 to 1953. He later served as chairman of the Pima County Democratic Party and Arizona Democratic Party. He was active in civic affairs and local organizations.
